Press Releases 11/23/09 First Niagara Strengthens Financial Leaders Buffalo, NY -- First Niagara Financial Group (NASDAQ: FNFG), the parent company of First Niagara Bank, announced several key additions to its financial leadership team. James K. Ciroli joined First Niagara as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller, reporting to Chief Financial Officer Michael Harrington. Before joining First Niagara, Ciroli served as Senior Vice President and Assistant Controller of Huntington Bancshares Inc., a $52B asset bank headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. He previously worked for Society/Key Bank in a variety of senior financial roles. Ciroli holds a Master of Accountancy degree from Case Western Reserve University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Brian M. Dempsey has also joined First Niagara, as First Vice President of Financial Reporting. In this role he will oversee all regulatory and management reporting activities for the company, reporting to Jim Ciroli. Dempsey previously served as a Senior Manager in the Financial Services Practice of Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Buffalo, NY. He is a graduate of Canisius College and is a Certified Public Accountant.
