NJBA Launches Directors College

Iselin, NJ – The New Jersey Bankers Association today launched its inaugural Directors College, an annual educational seminar for bank Directors and CEOs. Prominent on the agenda was a session led by Alan J. Kaplan, President & CEO, Kaplan & Associates, Inc. entitled Leadership Succession: A Board’s Most Vital Responsibility.

Kaplan stated “bank Directors and incumbent CEOs must refine their focus on leadership succession. Long term survival for banks will depend on two critical factors: capital and talent, and both are in short supply in this industry today.” Featured on the panel were a bank regulator and two well respected community bank CEOs: Raymond Hallock, President & CEO of Columbia Bank, and Craig Montanaro, President & COO of Kearny Federal Savings Bank.
